MathWorks is launching Release 2019a of Matlab and Simulink, which includes new products and enhancements in the areas of artificial intelligence (AI), signal processing and static analysis, as well as new features and bug fixes across all product families. For example, the 'Reinforcement Learning Toolbox' will be introduced, which improves the 'Matlab' workflow for AI. The toolbox supports a type of machine learning that trains an 'agent' through repeated trial-and-error interactions with an environment to solve control and decision-making problems. The 'Deep Learning Toolbox' has been enhanced with support for 'Nvidia GPU Cloud', 'Amazon Web Services' and 'Microsoft Azure' as well as interoperability via the ONNX exchange format. AI support in the current release also includes enhancements to the 'Computer Vision Toolbox', 'Data Acquisition Toolbox' and 'Image Acquisition Toolbox'. In addition, the release includes several new signal processing and communication products to support wireless and electronics development, as well as advances in the company's Polyspace family of static analysis products.
