Framework in the cloud

With 'TIA Portal in the cloud', Siemens is expanding the options for using the engineering framework more flexibly in the various phases from planning to engineering and commissioning.

The possibilities offered are based on the main features of 'TIA Portal Version V15.1' with additional available options such as simulation of the application in the cloud environment with the help of 'S7-PLCSIM Advanced', project planning of visualizations with HMI panels up to PC-based runtime systems and the integrated Sinamics drive portfolio. The use of the 'TIA Portal' in the cloud enables web-based access to pre-installed environments, with any hardware, without installation, independent of time and location. This reduces the effort required to test 'TIA Portal' innovations. The integration of different PC and tablet hardware into the development process of machines and systems increases flexibility and reduces engineering hardware requirements. Local installation on the devices is not necessary as access is web-based. In addition, the scalability of the cloud architecture enables individual adaptation to the user's requirements. The central storage of project data in a cloud-based file share enables fast access, regardless of where the user is located. It also simplifies the distribution of project data within the team.
