Strategic partnership with Cognizant
Omron Corporation, headquartered in Kyoto, Japan, and Cognizant have entered into a strategic partnership to drive the integration of information and operational technology (IT and OT) in the industry.
Omron's automation experts and Cognizant's IT OT specialists are combining their expertise to create a holistic solution for digital transformation in the manufacturing industry. The partnership combines Omron's OT portfolio - including sensors, controllers, servo drives, safety systems and robotics - with Cognizant's IT expertise in cloud, artificial intelligence, IoT and digital twins.
By combining their areas of expertise, Omron and Cognizant aim to establish an innovative business model that addresses both operational and management challenges through continuous IT OT analysis and targeted optimization. According to the companies, the integrated solution promotes sustainable production, increases productivity, improves workforce efficiency and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. The companies offer consulting services as well as on-site implementation, operation and maintenance. The joint solution is aimed in particular at companies in the automotive industry, semiconductor manufacturing, electronics, industrial manufacturing, life sciences and consumer goods.
