Dr. Steffen Kappler (40) at Siemens Healthcare in Forchheim is researching new methods of spectral computed tomography for clinical applications. The algorithms developed by Kappler compensate for the spectral interference of the measurement signal and convert the data into color images for the detection of tissue and contrast agents. "We are still in the test phase, but our method is the basis for the broad application of spectral computed tomography in the clinical environment," explains Kappler.
