What's happening in the field of control systems? Computer&AUTOMATION has summarized current products from the field of control technology in a picture gallery.

The IPC 221 control cabinet computer from Sigmatek offers the following performance data: Intel Celeron processor (2 × 2.2 GHz), 2 to 8 GB DDR3 RAM and 512 MB CompactFlash memory. According to the manufacturer, this makes the computer suitable as a control platform for control, regulation and motion control tasks for both decentralized and centralized machine concepts. At 11 cm high and 8 cm deep, the computer fits in with the S-DIAS system. The I/O modules can be connected directly to the computer via the bus interface on the side. Many interfaces are already 'on board': 2 × VARAN, 2 × Ethernet, 2 × CAN as well as 1 × USB 2.0, DVI and S-DVI. Project planning and programming are carried out using the Lasal engineering tool. The front-mounted interfaces and connections as well as the tool-free top-hat rail mounting reduce the effort required for installation and servicing. The computer measures 218.5 mm × 110.3 mm × 77.2 mm (W × H × D).
