Siemens / 3rd quarter 2016New record level of incoming orders
Siemens has announced its figures for the third quarter of 2016. On the positive side, earnings in the industrial business increased by 20% compared to the same quarter of the previous year. The negative: Things are anything but going well in the Process Industries & Drives business unit.

In the 'Energy Management' segment, Siemens recorded a decline in orders in the reporting region Europe, CIS, Africa, Middle East (Europe/GANO) due to the downturn in the Middle East, where the solutions business received a number of major orders in the third quarter of fiscal year 2015. By contrast, a very strong increase was recorded in Asia and Australia; this includes a major ultra-high-voltage DC transmission order for the transformer business.
