SPS IPC Drives 2016New products in Nuremberg
What new products did the exhibitors present at SPS IPC Drives 2016? Computer&AUTOMATION provides an overview of what was on show in the Nuremberg exhibition halls this year.

The SSW900 soft starter, which will replace the previous 'SSW07' starter series from WEG, has been developed for industrial and commercial use and covers output currents from 10 A to 412 A in the wide voltage range 220 to 575 V. As a high-end device with integrated PLC, it offers fully programmable procedures for controlling asynchronous motors and flexible torque control. Thanks to the integrated bypass contactor, the three-phase soft start control ensures an extended service life, optimized use of space and reduced heat dissipation in the control cabinet, according to the supplier. The user interface simplifies operation and enables users to make program adjustments quickly. The soft starter is suitable for applications such as fans/venting fans, axial, centrifugal and dosing pumps, agitators and mixers, conveyor belts, extruders, dryers and industrial ovens, rotary tables as well as ball and hammer mills.
