SPS IPC Drives 2016New products in Nuremberg
What new products did the exhibitors present at SPS IPC Drives 2016? Computer&AUTOMATION provides an overview of what was on show in the Nuremberg exhibition halls this year.

In addition to the 'F 10 BlueLight' subminiature sensor from Sensopart, blue light sensors are now available in miniature and compact format. The sensors in the F 25 BlueLight and F55 BlueLight series can cover scanning ranges of up to 1200 mm. Especially when detecting highly light-absorbing objects such as black plastic or carbon parts or when detecting at an unfavorable, flat angle, blue light scanners demonstrate high process stability. The sensors also detect transparent objects such as bottles, syringes or foils. The process stability of the blue light series is due to the higher intensity and the lower penetration depth of the short-wave blue light into the surface of the object being scanned. This means that a larger proportion of the light emitted by the sensing object is returned to the sensor. Thanks to precise background suppression, even very bright or reflective backgrounds such as reflections from metal machine parts do not interfere with detection. With the compact sensor of the 'F 55 BlueLight' series, the background suppression can be adjusted using a potentiometer.
