What is currently happening on the market in the fields of material flow, handling technology and industrial handling? Computer&AUTOMATION has summarized an excerpt of what exhibitors are showing at Motek 2018 in Stuttgart in a picture gallery.

Panda from Voith Robotics is a collaborative lightweight robot that performs specific tasks in the form of modular programs (apps) that can be intuitively configured by existing personnel with no robotics experience. With CE out-of-the-box solutions such as chip testing, screwing or device testing, the robot offers the shortest 'time to production' on the market for these tasks, according to the supplier. Voith Robotics also supports customers in the development of new apps for "Panda" and in the implementation of other use cases. Based on the mobility of the human arm, "Panda" is a tool that has seven corresponding axes that enable the robot to handle objects efficiently. The robot currently weighs 18 kg with a maximum payload of 3 kg and a total reach of 855 mm. At the same time, the hand grips quickly with a force of 70 N and moves at 30 mm/s. The control unit can be mounted in server racks, for example, and connects the robot to the cloud or existing local production networks. The robot is platform- and manufacturer-independent.
