Siemens quarterly figures Q2/2024Industrial business almost at previous year's level
Siemens achieved a "solid performance" in the second quarter of the fiscal year, with strong growth in the industrial software business in particular. Overall, revenue was almost unchanged compared to the same period last year.
Mobility's order intake included a EUR 0.4 billion order for light rail vehicles in the US and a number of large orders for locomotives in Europe; Q2 FY 2023 had included a much higher volume of large orders, including a EUR 2.9 billion order for locomotives and related maintenance in India. Mobility recorded a significant increase in sales revenue with growth in all businesses. With higher sales and strong project execution, almost all businesses increased earnings and profitability. Earnings in Q2 FY 2023 benefited from Russia-related effects in the amount of EUR 78 million.
