Siemens quarterly figures Q2/2024Industrial business almost at previous year's level
Siemens achieved a "solid performance" in the second quarter of the fiscal year, with strong growth in the industrial software business in particular. Overall, revenue was almost unchanged compared to the same period last year.
Smart Infrastructure saw double-digit percentage growth in order intake with contributions from all businesses; geographically, the increases were led by the US, where the Electrical Products and Electrification businesses recorded numerous orders from data centers. Sales revenue also increased in all businesses, with the Electrification business achieving the highest increase due to strong order backlog processing. In regional terms, the USA recorded the highest contribution to growth. Earnings and profitability once again increased across the board compared to the previous year; the improvements were mainly due to higher sales revenue, increased capacity utilization and continued productivity measures.
