SiemensFirst half-year lays foundation for strong financial year
Siemens has announced its figures for the second quarter of 2019 and recorded increases in order intake and sales as well as a record order backlog.
Finally, the Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy segment reported a lower volume of major orders in the onshore business due to the timing of tenders. From a regional perspective, there were declines in order intake in the reporting regions of Asia, Australia and Europe/GANO, partially offset by an increase in the Americas. There was higher sales revenue due to strong growth in the offshore and service businesses. This was offset by a decline in the onshore business. From a regional perspective, the division recorded a strong increase in Europe/GANO, while declines in the other Siemens reporting regions had the opposite effect.
