ZVEI / German electrical exports100 billion euro mark cracked

Upswing for German electrical exports: in June 2018, they rose by 3.8% year-on-year to €17.5 billion. According to the ZVEI, the electrical industry exported goods worth 102 billion euros in the first half of 2018, which is 4.3% above the previous year's level.

The largest single country markets in 2017 were again China (€ 1,692 billion), the USA (€ 598 billion), Japan (€ 297 billion), South Korea (€ 182 billion) and Germany (€ 122 billion). China could grow by 7% this year and by 6% next year, while the USA could grow by 5% in 2018 and 4% in 2019. The forecasts for Japan (+ 2% and + 1%) and South Korea (+ 1% each) are more moderate. The German market is expected to grow by 4% in 2018 and 3% in 2019.
