B&R company founder passes away
Erwin Bernecker, founder of B&R Industrial Automation, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on March 30, 2019. Together with Josef Rainer, Bernecker founded the industrial electronics company in Eggelsberg in 1979.
Erwin Bernecker was an active member of the management until the company was sold to the ABB Group. Until the end, he supported the integration of the company into the ABB Group's business processes as a consultant. The two B&R company founders Erwin Bernecker and Josef Rainer knew each other from their school days and gradually built up an international company with their shared idea. "Erwin Bernecker was an indispensable pillar of the company until the very end. We pay deep respect to his life's work," says B&R Managing Director Hans Wimmer. The company will be continued in Erwin Bernecker's spirit.
