With the Smartcase line, Fujitsu brings together its kits for boxed industrial PCs (Kit Solutions). They provide developers with a complete set of tested system components and accessories. In addition to the mainboard and housing, this also includes heat sinks, riser cards and adapter cables, as well as internal AC adapters and graphics cards. The company now offers two new products within the line. One of these is the Smartcase S500 for the industrial mainboards of the DS3544-S series in Mini-STX format. They are designed for the new generation of low-power processors from the Intel "Gemini Lake" family. In contrast to commercially available Mini-STX solutions, according to the manufacturer, a particularly flat design with a height of 36 mm and a housing volume of just 0.9 liters is used. The second new Smartcase S700 is aimed at the mainboards of the D3543-S series in Mini-ITX format, which also support the new Gemini Lake CPUs. A special feature of the S700 is a low-profile expansion slot. Among other things, it offers space for an AC adapter (Power Supply Unit, PSU) or a low-power graphics card from the AMD Radeon S7 340 series. The card has a reduced TDP value. According to the manufacturer, this means it can also be used in the compact housing of the S700 without causing problems with cooling.
