Embedded systemsNew products at embedded world 2018
From February 27 to March 1, 2018, the Nuremberg exhibition halls made room for everything to do with embedded systems technology. Computer&AUTOMATION presents a selection of new products that were on show at the stands of the 16th embedded world.

Renesas Electronics presents its Resenas RZ/G-Linux platform with an industrial-grade Linux kernel for Civil Infrastructure Platform (CIP) Super Long-Term Support (SLTS). This is designed to support Linux-based embedded systems for more than ten years. The new platform includes a verified Linux package with cloud maintenance and development options. This makes it easier for embedded developers to use Linux in high-performance industrial equipment. Support for extremely long-term Linux kernel stability can potentially reduce maintenance costs by hundreds of thousands of euros annually, according to the manufacturer. The RZ/G-Linux platform also reduces development time and Linux setup costs for industrial equipment. The platform is aimed at new users migrating from an RTOS or bare-metal environment, as well as experienced embedded Linux users. The platform provides a cloud development environment within the Renesas e² studio integrated software development tool. This gives embedded programmers the ability to write and compile their code on cloud servers where the Linux distribution and BSP are actively maintained.
