The survey also made it clear that many companies still lack the technical requirements to meet the high expectations of fully networked production and the value chain. Almost all respondents have already networked their production and logistics environments, "but the current installation is not sufficient for end-to-end IoT functionality," concludes the market analysis company PAC. According to the decision-makers surveyed, the degree of networking must increase significantly: 82% of those surveyed are aiming for an environment that is more than half networked in four years' time.
