Phytec launches the phycore-AM65x system on module and a rapid development kit based on the 'Sitara AM65x' processor series from Texas Instruments. The company is thus expanding its 'phycore' product series. The module offers secure boot, interfaces for industrial multi-protocol gigabit communication and comprehensive graphics features. It is suitable for safety-critical applications and TSN. The System on Module is particularly suitable for industrial communication systems, automation, edge computing, networked infrastructure and applications with high demands on reliability. The main applications can run on the Quad Cortex-A53 processor, while the six PRUs are used for time-critical communication protocols such as TSN. The separate dual Cortex-R5F processor cores are available for safety-critical applications. In conjunction with the launch of the SOM, the company is also presenting the phyCORE-AM65x Rapid Development Kit. It enables the module to be commissioned and supports customers in starting development of their own hardware and software with the Texas Instruments AM65x processor series.
