... what users would do with the time gained during autonomous driving. Sleeping is out of the question for 65%. Most Germans would most likely spend the time gained emailing, making phone calls or surfing the internet. However, the majority of respondents reject the idea of working during the journey - even if the time were to be counted as working time. Detecon's conclusion: "Entertainment services are obviously more important in the car than business applications," says Gladbach. "Car manufacturers should also adapt to this and use their offerings as an additional opportunity for customer loyalty." Computer&AUTOMATION offers the Detecon study for download.
