Siemens / Hannover Messe 2019From Edge to Bitcoin!

No, Siemens' trade fair appearance at this year's Hannover Messe does not suggest any absolutely revolutionary innovations! - Rather, the charm of the presentation lies in the continuous expansion of digital solutions for the implementation of Industry 4.0.

Siemens and Festo present an innovative linear motor drive and control concept that enables flexible and efficient highly dynamic solutions for short-cycle applications. The multi-carrier system (MCS) from Siemens and Festo is integrated into the Rexroth TS 2plus transfer system. The versatile modular system with standardized units from Bosch Rexroth is thus supplemented by the modular MCS. The advantages of the existing systems are combined and the user can combine both systems almost freely depending on the task and make processes as flexible as possible. This opens up new possibilities in assembly technology or, for example, in battery production. The multi-carrier system makes it possible to accelerate, move and precisely position the workpiece carriers on the MCS line independently of each other. This not only allows different product formats to be produced on one production line, but also significantly shorter cycle times and higher production quantities in the same time. The workpiece carriers move seamlessly from one system to the other and can be flexibly fed in and out and integrated into the existing intralogistics system.
