Belden takes over NetModule

The network technology provider Belden has acquired NetModule, thereby expanding its expertise in the wireless sector.

NetModule AG is known as a provider of fast and secure wireless network infrastructures, with a focus on public transportation and intelligent traffic systems. The company is headquartered in Bern, Switzerland, and employs around 70 people, mainly in Bern, Switzerland, and Frankfurt, Germany.

NetModule is now to be integrated into Belden's Industrial Automation division and will expand its expertise in the field of wireless technology. According to Brian Lieser, VP and General Manager, Industrial Network Solutions, the NetModule technology will add capabilities for 5G and WiFi6 technologies to Belden's solution portfolio.

Jürgen Kern - shareholder of the NetModule Group since 2001 and CEO since 2003 - only retired from the operational management of NetModule on August 1, 2021. Kern moved to the Board of Directors at that time and handed over the management of the Group to Remo Viscardi, who had been COO at NetModule since the beginning of 2019.
