Available as managed and unmanaged versions

In the Networking Solutions division, Vipa has added intelligent Ethernet switches to its product range. The modules, equipped with five or eight ports, have compact dimensions and are available as unmanaged or managed Ethernet switches.

Both unmanaged switches support the IEEE 802.3 and 802.3u/x standards as well as automatic MDI/MDI-X detection. There is also a 5-port and an 8-port version of the managed Ethernet switches. Both are designed for use in Profinet networks and enable Profinet diagnostics and status information to be queried.
For users who use the provider's engineering tool 'Speed7 Studio', the use of the managed Ethernet switches is simplified by the fact that both modules can be integrated into the configured Profinet network using drag & drop. Open system integration using a GSDML file is also possible.
The short boot times and the Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain recovery technologies further optimize the performance of Profinet networks. The use of the managed Ethernet switches is not limited to Profinet networks, as they also support Ethernet/IP and Modbus/TCP protocols for monitoring devices or using intelligent network management functions.
