Exicom 500 series thin clients from R. Stahl HMI Systems are now available with the latest firmware release v5.50. The Industrial Grade Remote HMI firmware based on Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSB is a protected kiosk mode in which the user's rights are restricted and access to the operating system level is blocked. The security concept also includes a filter that can be used to restrict the USB connection to defined storage media and other specific devices. Users only have access to normal settings and apps set up for them, such as Citrix clients, ERP or CCTV systems. A new feature of the firmware is the simultaneous display of different sessions: for example, the control and ERP systems can be accessed in parallel - whether in split-screen mode on the same screen or on dual-monitor systems. The interface displays one-touch shortcuts for frequently used apps and functions. Everything else is accessed via clearly structured menus. The firmware ensures interaction with control systems from leading manufacturers and remote access to virtual machines, cloud and IoT applications.
