Softing is launching a mobile multi-protocol interface for commissioning and maintaining field devices. With mobiLink, the company offers access to the process industry protocols HART, Foundation Fieldbus and Profibus PA via a single interface. The interface communicates via USB or Bluetooth. In combination with the appropriate software, such as Softing's "Communication Configurator", the interface is suitable for parameterization, pre-configuration, commissioning, diagnostics and monitoring. FDT frame applications and engineering tools are supported. Communication with a smartphone, laptop or tablet takes place via USB or Bluetooth. Access to HART and Foundation Fieldbus devices is currently possible; access to Profibus PA devices will be possible from July 2018. The device is battery-operated, robustly built and suitable for use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
