Genuboc remote maintenance appliance version 5.1 from Genua
© Genua

Genua presents the remote maintenance appliance Genubox version 5.2, which enables direct access to 'Simatic S7' control systems. The appliance is installed on the machine being serviced and creates an encrypted connection (VPN) to a rendezvous server at the customer's initiative. The external service provider also establishes an authenticated VPN connection to this server. Only with the rendezvous on the server is the end-to-end maintenance connection established via which the service can access the machine system. This prevents the maintenance access from being misused or the transmitted data from being intercepted or manipulated. To ensure that the user retains control over all access to their production network at all times, they can follow all maintenance actions live via the user interface; a video recording is also saved. Thanks to the direct connection to S7 control systems, data can be retrieved from the control system and transferred to the external service provider for monitoring. In the opposite direction, the direct connection enables the service provider to access the control system in order to carry out maintenance work on the machine system. The remote maintenance solution is operated via a Windows app and administered via a central management station. The solution allows a service provider to remotely manage over 1000 machine systems. The remote maintenance appliance is available in various hardware versions. The Genubox Si runs on compact, maintenance-free hardware, offers four Gbit interfaces, is hardened against shocks and vibrations and is designed for mounting on top-hat rails.
