Datalogic has announced version 11.11 of its Impact software. The advanced OCR tool is intuitive to use and offers new functions for the 'MX-E' and 'MX-U' image processing systems. It can therefore be used for demanding applications in the field of optical character recognition. The advanced OCR tool can be used to read alphanumeric character strings on labels or directly marked (DPM) on industrial products. The tool reliably recognizes hard-to-read characters under difficult conditions, such as uneven backgrounds, different lighting conditions and curved surfaces. Because Advanced OCR is intuitive, font and character sets can be set up quickly, along with simple database management and string verification modes.
