A new measuring method helps to detect corona-infected people from a safe distance. It registers fever, increased pulse and rapid breathing without endangering the employee carrying out the measurement. The Fraunhofer Institutes IPA and IAO are currently testing the method at the Robert Bosch Hospital in Stuttgart.

The innovative method developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA measures all relevant parameters from a distance of one meter. The employee carrying out the measurement from a laptop can easily maintain the required minimum distance of one and a half to two meters. This means they are not at risk and do not have to wear protective clothing - an invaluable advantage these days.
