With Vegadif 85, a differential pressure transmitter developed with safety in mind, Vega supplies a module for the continuous control and monitoring of industrial processes. It is qualified and approved in accordance with SIL2 (SIL3) and can be parameterized both wirelessly via Bluetooth and wired. The electronics used in the transmitter are intrinsically safe and flameproof in accordance with ATEX, IECEx and CSA. This means that the transmitters can be safely parameterized at any time, even during operation in hazardous areas. Bluetooth is also available as an option for the current generation of differential pressure transmitters. As this works modularly on the Vega device platform 'plics', it implements safety precautions at various levels. These include current encryption modes at interface level - via PC or smartphone - as well as access codes that protect the sensor against unauthorized access.
