Multi-Contact has added a 10 Gbit module for Ethernet communication to the Combitac modular connector system. It meets the requirements of CAT6A and is designed for 100,000 mating cycles. The 10 Gbit module was developed for harsh industrial environments and is vibration-resistant in accordance with IEC 60512-6-4. In addition to industrial Ethernet applications in the manufacturing industry, it can also be used in railroad applications as it meets the requirements of railroad standard EN 45545-1. The connection to the environment is made via an RJ45 connector with standard patch cables. Consequently, if the cable is damaged or at the end of its service life, only the cable needs to be replaced. The plug-in modules are supplied as standard in an assembled state without cables.
