The Compact-M series from Syslogic uses switchable COM interfaces. These can be configured as RS232 or as galvanically isolated RS422/485. The basic equipment also includes LAN, CAN, USB and Ethercat interfaces. The device can be optionally expanded with WLAN, GSM, UMTS and LTE. The box PC is designed to combine compact dimensions, powerful multi-core CPU boards and interface variability. The computer designed for the automation market is equipped with a quad-core processor from Intel's Atom E3845 series. Syslogic also provides Ethercat master stacks for a Linux operating system. This gives users the option of using the box PC directly as an Ethercat controller. Automation solutions should be easy and inexpensive to implement because the graphical user interface, the Ethercat master interface and the control logic are operated with the same hardware. An additional microcontroller monitors the switching on and off of the Box PC.
