04 - Schmersal: Variants for further fieldbus systems
Schmersal is launching two new variants of the 'Safety Fieldbox', so that the box can not only be integrated into systems with Profinet/Profisafe as before, but is also available for Ethernet/IP with CIP Safety and Ethercat with FSoE. The 'Safety Fieldbox' allows up to eight safety switching devices to be connected via plug and play. Safety switching devices such as electronic and electromechanical solenoid interlocks, sensors, control panels, light curtains or switches can be connected via the universal device interfaces for 8-pin M12 plugs. Solenoid interlocks or safety light curtains only require one M12 slot, and control panels with an EMERGENCY STOP function and up to three non-safe control and signaling devices can also be connected. An integrated digital input at each device slot allows the diagnostic signals of all connected safety switching devices to be evaluated.
