At automatica, Bi-Ber is presenting a completeness check with a flexibly adaptable 3D image processing system consisting of just a few components. A laser triangulation sensor records the test object from two directions using various mirrors. As a result, it can also monitor low-lying areas that are shadowed in conventional images. Such a reflex system is particularly suitable for fast production processes. It enables precise measurements of complex test specimens, the monitoring of large surfaces and wide production lines with many small end products. Simple geometries can be viewed with the help of profile examinations and complex shapes can be compared with a previously taught-in 3D object. The speed, size and measuring field can be adapted to the requirements of a wide range of machine vision tasks. The system was developed on the basis of a sensor from Cognex.
