JVL Industri offers the CiA402 drive profile and synchronization for Ethercat. The Ethercat module is equipped with two Ethernet connections and a built-in switch, enabling a line, star, tree and ring topology without additional hardware. It has several LEDs for a quick status overview. Opto-isolated I/Os are integrated into the module, enabling the control of sensors without external I/O modules, for example. This minimizes the number of devices in the network and reduces cable costs. All connectors are robust M12 plugs. In addition, all registers in the 'JVL MAC motor' are accessible via the Ethercat connection, which enables complete control of the motor configuration and movement. A predefined setup can be used for configuration; commissioning is carried out using the 'MacTalk' application software. CSP (synchronized position) and CSV (synchronized velocity) modes are supported, as well as the older profile position, profile velocity and numerous homing methods. The synchronized cycle times for the integrated 'MIS' stepper motor can be 1, 2, 3 and 4 ms. The cycle times for integrated 'MAC' servomotors are 1 and 2 ms. The maximum jitter for both is ±1 µs.
