To avoid unnecessary Profinet connections, the universal drivers from PQ Plus enable direct connection of UMD measuring devices to automation devices via Ethernet with Modbus TCP. These interfaces are available as standard on the PLCs. As UMD measuring devices do not usually generate any control-relevant real-time data, conventional communication is sufficient. Expensive add-ons are therefore not required. The data is entered directly into data blocks. The Modbus-TCP interface of the UMD96EL maps all process data as floating point numbers (32 or 64 bits) in input registers in pairs or groups of 4. The configuration data is mapped in holding registers.
