Pilz is expanding its portfolio with the diagnostic solution Safety Device Diagnostics, which consists of a fieldbus module plus distributor and safe sensor technology PSEN. The new solution is designed to enable sensor data to be retrieved remotely. The solution provides diagnostic information such as partial actuation, voltage surges and dips, temperature effects, switching cycles, bounces and RFID identification/recognition. All additional diagnostic data provided by each sensor is designed to facilitate preventive maintenance. In addition to simple remote maintenance, for example via a web server, the integrated display on the fieldbus module ensures that information is not only available on the machine's operating monitors, but also directly in the control cabinet. According to the manufacturer, the fieldbus module serves as the only interface for the system bus of all connected safety devices, which should minimize the installation effort. It is also possible to connect third-party devices directly via the integrated I/Os.
