The Allen-Bradley graphic terminals of the PanelView 5310 family from Rockwell Automation can be integrated into the "Logix 5000" controllers in the same way as the terminals of the "PanelView 5500" series. However, they are designed for systems with up to 50 operator interfaces, and the displays are available in 7-, 9- and 12-inch versions. A 6-inch version is also planned. Thanks to the improved networking, companies can install quick-response inching switches instead of hard-wired switches. By allowing the switches programmed for self-diagnostics to communicate with the controller at I/O speed, downtime is minimized. In addition, users can create reusable overviews and displays as well as their own graphics in the intuitive "Studio 5000" development environment to reduce the time required. These objects can be seamlessly integrated into "Logix" add-on commands and various user-defined data types. Emulation functions allow technicians to test projects within the development environment. This means that neither production interruptions nor "PanelView 5000" hardware are required if changes need to be made. VNC interfaces allow operators to monitor operations remotely using a smartphone, tablet or computer. History data and trends as well as data logging functions also facilitate troubleshooting directly via the control panels.
