Phoenix Contact is expanding its range of managed switches for Profinet automation applications to include Profinet functions and variants for the Factory Line Switch 2000 product family. Following a firmware update, the 2200 and 2300 versions of the switches support Profinet device functionality and Profinet Conformance Class B. This means that the devices can be integrated as Profinet components directly into the engineering (PC Worx or TIA portal) and configured and diagnosed via a controller. Furthermore, special status LEDs on the "2200 PN" and "2300 PN" variants enable rapid diagnosis of error states or connection interruptions to the controller directly on the switch. For the user, there is also no need for pre-configuration for use in Profinet networks, as the devices are already supplied in Profinet mode.
