Honeywell presents a new real-time solution for the safety monitoring of employees in plants and remote operating sites. The Personal Gas Safety product from the Connected Plant portfolio is designed to protect lives and enable faster response to dangerous leaks or work injuries. The solution's portable gas detectors monitor gas, radiation and dust and are closely integrated into Honeywell's distributed control system, the Experion Process Knowledge System (PKS). In the event of harmful exposure, personnel failure or emergency notifications from outside personnel, accurate and automated alarms inform the operator in the control room in real time. In addition, safety teams can use Experion PKS tools to generate detailed trends, reports and data analysis of the gas detectors to ensure continued safe operations. The detectors are equipped with an alarm button for emergencies and a sensor for the automatic dead man function. Critical alarms from the detectors are displayed on the operator stations in the control room and indicate the location and exposure status of the operator, enabling a faster and more coordinated response by the operators.
