With the PSC1 configurator, Schmersal is presenting a planning tool that machine manufacturers and machine operators can use to configure a safe control system for their systems according to their individual requirements. According to the manufacturer, the online tool, which is available 24/7, is self-explanatory, easy to use and provides a meaningful planning basis for designers in just a few minutes. Based on a selection of safety sensors and safety outputs, this planning tool automatically selects the optimum (in terms of price) PSC1 safety controller from Schmersal and also shows how much space the configured module takes up on the DIN rail. At the same time, the configurator generates a parts list with article designation, material number and details of the devices. This parts list is linked to Schmersal's online catalog so that additional information on the devices can be called up if required. The parts list can be saved in Excel or PDF format and sent directly to Schmersal by e-mail to obtain a customized quotation. The tool is available as a web version or the configurator can be used on iPads/touchpads via an iOS/Android app.
