Cedalo has announced the general availability of its new Streamsheet platform. Streamsheets act as an intelligent Edge2Cloud gateway as well as an end-user platform for analysis, simulation, visualization and control of IoT sensors and actuators. In contrast to classic spreadsheets, streamsheets run as a cyclical process on a server in the cloud or on-premises (Windows, Linux, iOS, Raspbian, etc.) and are able to process sensor and machine data from MQTT, OPC UA, AMQP, Kafka or REST-based data streams in real time and continuously in 24-hour operation. The classic disadvantages of spreadsheet programs (desktop-centric, decentralized data storage, batch processing, lack of a rights system) do not exist with streamsheets. The applications are modeled via the web browser, the applications themselves run in the background with central data storage as reliable microservices on the server.
