Sensopart offers the FT 25-C color sensor in a miniature housing with a similar range of functions to much larger color sensors. Areas of application include color and print mark detection, label detection in packaging and labelling machines and lid inspection in bottling plants. Thanks to its switching frequency of up to 10 kHz, the sensor can also be used in very fast print mark applications. In addition to the colors of the RGB spectrum, it can also detect the "non-colors" black, white and grey. When teaching in the object color, the user has three options to choose from: In addition to a medium resolution with a depth of field of 3 mm, a fine resolution with a depth of field of 2 mm and a coarse resolution with a depth of field of 6 mm can be set. While the "fine" setting achieves greater selectivity in color detection, the "coarse" operating mode improves reliability in the detection of fluttering objects. In the "color/background" operating mode, two different colors can be taught to differentiate between object and background. The miniature color sensor offers an elongated light spot (approx. 1 mm × 5 mm) with a sharp contour, which enables precise leading edge detection even of very narrow print marks and also simplifies the alignment of the sensor. During the teach-in process, the light spot signals to the user via the color - green, blue or red - whether the quality of the taught-in color value is sufficient for a stable process.
