Siemens is making its 3D printing platform Additive Manufacturing Network (AM Network) available to help tackle the coronavirus pandemic. At the same time, the Group is connecting its systems to print components as required and suitable.

Siemens launched the Additive Manufacturing Network in April 2018. As an online platform for collaboration, it provides users in the manufacturing industry worldwide with expertise, knowledge, digital tools and production capacities for industrial 3D printing. The company is now opening up the platform for processing design and print requests from doctors, hospitals and medical technology manufacturers. This is because medical technology and medical devices are subject to wear and tear under constant use, meaning that parts need to be replaced. The aim of Siemens' initiative is to enable fast and uncomplicated 3D printing of spare parts such as ventilators.
