TDK-Lambda Germany launches the QM8 series with eight module slots, expanding the modular 'QM' power supply series, which can now accommodate up to 18 outputs in a single power supply with 700 to 1500 W output power. The 'QM8' series operates with input voltages between 90 and 264 V(AC) (47 to 63 Hz, up to 440 Hz on request) and can deliver 1200 to 1500 W output power. Up to eight modules with single or dual output provide output voltages between 2.8 V and 105.6 V. In addition, a maximum of two standby outputs with 5 V or 12 V can be configured, for example to supply external controllers; these in turn can control the power supply units via signal inputs that can also be configured.These in turn can switch the power supply units on and off via 'Unit enable' or 'Unit inhibit' signal inputs, which can also be configured, and monitor and control them via an 'AC Good' output or a digital PM bus interface. The permissible operating temperature range is -20 to +70 °C with a derating of 2.5 %/°C above 50 °C.
