The winner in the 'Hardware' category is the company Next System. Robert Gausterer (2nd from left), Andreas Tragenreif (3rd from left) and Gregor Keltscha (4th from left) were presented with the award. The company had submitted a haptic touch solution for the award. This technology provides tactile feedback on display touch surfaces and enables, among other things, the location of controls by feeling them before they are triggered. The solution has low power consumption and a flat design. According to the jury, this haptic touch technology opens up a new possibility for human-machine interaction. It makes it easier for visually impaired people to access embedded systems.
