
The runner-up, pi4 Robotics from Berlin, entered the competition with its humanoid robot 'workerbot3'. The robot is used for highly flexible manufacturing, handling and inspection tasks. With two cooperative arms, it can perform complex movements efficiently. One advantage of its universal applicability is that it enables cost-effective production in Europe. The "3" behind "workerbot" stands for third generation. In contrast to its predecessors, the current robot has stereo camera systems in the grippers to record the 3D position of products and, if necessary, make position corrections when gripping. The payload per arm is 10 kg with an arm length of 1.3 m. New tasks are taught to the robot and do not need to be programmed. The product is available on the market.
