Rittal is expanding the Blue e+ cooling unit series with a unit in the 1.6 kW power class; previously, the cooling unit series offered a power range of 2 to 6 kW. In addition to the cULus listing, the cooling units and filterfans also have a UL listing in the "FTTA" category (Environmental-rated Accessories for Enclosures). For the cooling unit series, the company relies on a patented hybrid process that works with a combination of a compressor cooling unit and a heat pipe, which ensures passive cooling. DC motors are used for both the fans and the compressor. Thanks to the inverter technology, with which the speed of the compressor and fan can be adjusted via voltage regulation, the exact cooling capacity that is currently required is always provided. According to the supplier, this significantly reduces energy consumption compared to a conventional solution. Thanks to the multi-voltage capability, all devices can be operated flexibly in all standard global grids. The possible input voltage range extends from 110 V (single-phase) to 480 V (three-phase) at mains frequencies of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. A graphic touch display provides all relevant information at a glance. System messages are displayed in plain text and in multiple languages.
