With the E5 Industrial Panel PC, Emtrust offers a CE-certified device that is supplied either via a DC voltage of 8 VDC to 32 VDC or via Power over Ethernet (PoE). It is operated via the touchscreen and six buttons, four of which are freely assignable. The front panel and operating buttons are protected in accordance with protection class IP65. The system with 7-inch TFT display is based on Intel Atom processors with clock speeds of up to 1.6 GHz and runs under the Microsoft Windows Embedded Standard 7 operating system. The Panel PC operates in an extended temperature range of -20 to +70 °C. It has a maximum memory capacity of 2 GB. Its working memory is a maximum of 2 GByte DDR2 DRAM. The range of interfaces includes two USB 2.0 host ports, one mini-B USB port, one RS232 port, one RX/TX port, one RS485 port and one 1 GBit Ethernet port. It also has a CAN 2.0B interface, four digital inputs, four digital outputs and optional expansion options via a micro SD card slot. Further technical features include a hardware monitor and a watchdog timer, wireless communication via WLAN (802.11a/g/n) and Bluetooth as well as optional GPRS, EDGE, UMTS and HSDPA modules. The 194.8 mm x 158 mm x 34 mm (W x H x D) Panel PC has no rotating mechanical components. The display has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and a brightness of 400 cd/square meter.
