Schubert System Elektronik has developed a multi-touch panel PC from the Prime Cube IPC series for a customer project, which complies with protection class IP69K and is suitable for applications in the food sector. The housing, which consists of a stainless steel tray, is so tight all around that it can withstand cleaning with a high-pressure or steam jet and is designed to be hygienic. The Panel PC has antibacterial and easy-to-clean surfaces as well as a housing design without edges. A splinter protection film on the front prevents glass splinters from getting into the food if the front glass breaks. A 6th generation Intel Skylake Core i5 CPU provides the necessary high computing power in the hygiene-compliant panel PC. No mechanically moving components were used in the system design. A consistent cooling concept dissipates the heat generated via the surface of the stainless steel housing. The Panel PC has a VESA mount on the rear of the device and a connection to the Rittal support arm system.
