Syslogic offers a CAN computer based on the Compact SL 8 industrial computer. It has one CAN and one COM interface instead of the two COM interfaces of the standard device and supports the CAN 2.0A and 2.0B formats in accordance with ISO 11898-2 and ISO 11898-3. The CAN interfaces are electrically isolated, which protects the computers. A controller from Peak System is used in the computer, which supports both 32- and 64-bit operating systems and is compatible with the widely used SJA1000 CAN controller. According to the provider, this ensures a long-term system connection. In addition to industrial-grade hardware, Syslogic provides pre-compiled drivers: Socket-CAN and LIN (Local Interconnect Network) for Linux as well as CANopen packages from Peak for Windows. Additional packages such as CANFestival or CAN-Node can also be installed to support extended protocols such as CANopen. The computers are also equipped with two Ethernet and four USB interfaces. An additional CAN interface as well as LTE, GSM, UMTS and WLAN can be optionally added via a Mini PCI Express board.
