Carlo Gavazzi is expanding its product portfolio with the AC/DC measuring transformer CPA, which communicates via RS485 Modbus and enables the functions of an energy meter and network analyzer for measuring AC and DC energy values. The measuring transformer is used to monitor the single-phase AC or DC installation using Hall effect sampling. The current measurement is galvanically isolated from the measured line. The device operates at a maximum current of 300 A(AC) or 400 A(DC) and a maximum installation voltage of 1000 V(DC) or 800 V(AC). Due to its ability to measure currents with different frequency ranges, this measuring transformer is suitable for the requirements of DC applications (battery charging, photovoltaic monitoring), AC applications with a high crest factor (UPS, drives with variable frequency) and standard single-phase AC installations.
